Gottlieb-Daimler – Shut it down!
For months we demonstrated with this slogan and made actions.
Today, on 28.9.2018, it finally becomes reality: the social administration closes the camp in the Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße.
A success? Yes! Through our actions and our pressure, we achieved that this
unworthy, unhealthy place finally is history. The closure of the camp at Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße shows it is possible to fight for our human dignity and win even in these struggles. All we need is determination, commitment and solidarity.
Is our fight over now? No! Even though all former residents of the Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße now live in other accommodations, partly in the “Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung” in Steinsetzerstraße (Habenhausen), the “Zentrale Aufnahmeestelle” in Lindenstraße (Vegesack) or with private hosts (throughout the city) – our goal of living a decent life has not yet been achieved.
Many of us are still denied school places, good health care and the security of being able to stay in Bremen.
We are refugees and we are young people, we need a perspective.
We need protection, security and solidarity.
Together, thousands of us, tomorrow we will take the streets in Hamburg, tomorrow at 29th of September.
We will celebrate ourselves and our success. We show: we are here and we will stay. And we will recharge with energy for the many steps that lie ahead.

Gottlieb-Daimler – Shut it down!
Monatelang haben wir mit diesem Slogan demonstriert und Aktionen gemacht.
Heute, am 28.9.2018, wird es endlich Realität: die Sozialbehörde schließt das Camp in der Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße.
Ein Erfolg? Ja! Durch unsere Aktionen und unseren Druck haben wir bewirkt,
dass diese unwürdige, ungesunde Unterkunft Geschichte ist. Die Schließung des Lagers in der Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße lehrt uns, dass es möglich ist, für unsere Menschenwürde zu kämpfen und diese Kämpfe sogar zu gewinnen. Dafür braucht es Entschlossenheit, Engagement und Solidarität.
Ist unser Kampf jetzt vorbei? Nein! Auch wenn alle ehemaligen Bewohner*innen der Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße jetzt in anderen Unterkünften leben, zum Teil in der „Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung“ in der Steinsetzerstraße (Habenhausen), der „Zentralen Aufnahmestelle“ in der Lindenstraße (Vegesack) oder bei privaten Gastgeber*innen (in der ganzen Stadt) – unser Ziel, ein menschenwürdiges Leben führen zu können, ist noch nicht erreicht.
Immer noch werden vielen von uns Schulplätze, eine gute Gesundheitsversorgung und die Sicherheit, in Bremen bleiben zu können, vorenthalten.
Wir sind Geflüchtete und wir sind Jugendliche, wir brauchen eine Perspektive.
Wir brauchen Schutz, Sicherheit und Solidarität.
Zusammen, zu Tausenden, gehen wir morgen, am Samstag den 29.9., in Hamburg auf die Straße:
Wir feiern uns und unseren Erfolg. Wir zeigen: wir sind da, und wir bleiben es. Und wir tanken Energie für die vielen Schritte, die vor uns liegen.
